About Miles to Go

A nonprofit for the miles that can decide what happens next

Miles to Go exists to address and help overcome unexpected transportation barriers so Riverbend residents, especially in rural communities, can continue their journeys onward.

Transportation can be the quiet barrier behind a missed shift, a paused class, a delayed appointment, or a critical next step. Miles to Go was built around that practical reality.

The organization helps residents and referral partners look for real pathways through transportation barriers: direct requests, resource navigation, funding support, and a growing network of local knowledge.

Values

What guides the work

The tone is warm, but the work is concrete: solve the barrier in front of someone without making the process harder than it needs to be.

  • Practical first. The work is grounded in real-world transportation barriers, not one-size-fits-all advice.

  • Without judgment. People can ask for help without shame, blame, or unnecessary strings attached.

  • Rural by design. Miles to Go pays attention to communities where distance and limited transit can compound quickly.

Approach

A clear path when the route is unclear

Every request is different, but the work follows a practical rhythm.

  1. 1

Listen to the transportation barrier and what it is affecting

  2. 2

Look for practical support, referrals, or resource connections

  3. 3

Use charitable funding pathways when they fit the request and available resources

  4. 4

Learn from recurring barriers so rural solutions can improve over time
